Please note that I do not have the capacity to advise high school research projects at this time.
For prospective students:
I am interested in working with undergraduate, masters or PhD students at Brown University. My work is predominantly computational using quantitative approaches. I aim to address questions at the intersection of fundamental science and public health impact. The vast majority of my work is on infectious diseases using computational infectious disease models. In general students who are looking to join my group should be interested in using these methods though prior experience isn't usually necessary! I am particularly excited to work with students with a non-traditional public health background: students with degrees in maths, physics, engineering or ecology are encouraged to reach out.
PhD students: students who wish to work with me will typically apply to Brown's PhD program in epidemiology. As of 2026 I am receiving a high number of AI-generated emails from prospective students. I understand why students may resort to AI when communicating with faculty, but from a faculty perspective these emails start to look quite similar when they are side by side in my inbox. I strongly encourage students to reach out in their own words - it will help you stand out!
Postdocs: interested postdocs are encouraged to reach out. If I do not have funds available, I can also point to Brown or external fellowships that might help support us working together.
